Kinset Featured in Sourcing Journal: Raising the Bar on Cotton Proof
Sourcing Journal recently featured Kinset in an article on the changing reality of cotton traceability. The piece examines how regulatory scrutiny is intensifying across global markets.
Importantly, the article reflects a shift we see every day. Brands, mills, and regulators now expect more than documentation. In practice, supplier declarations alone no longer substantiate cotton origin or compliance claims.
As a result, enforcement frameworks are raising the bar. This includes the U.S. Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and new EU anti-greenwashing rules. Together, they place the burden of proof firmly on brands. Evidence now matters more than intent.
The article highlights how Kinset addresses this shift. Specifically, we connect digital traceability infrastructure with physical verification methods. This includes our collaboration with GenuTrace.
Through this model, scientific fibre-level testing links directly to structured supply-chain data. Consequently, brands can move from stated claims to defensible proof. Just as importantly, regulators can follow the data clearly.
For Kinset, this work reflects a core principle. Traceability systems must support enforcement, not just reporting. Therefore, data must flow across partners. It must also connect to physical materials. Finally, it must stand up to audits, customs reviews, and future Digital Product Passport requirements.
We appreciate Sourcing Journal’s coverage of this topic. More broadly, we welcome the industry conversation it represents. As regulatory expectations continue to rise, Kinset remains focused on building traceability foundations that are credible, scalable, and grounded in evidence.
